Overview

MapComp.EXE is a DOS program which is used to create the binary map files (.EWM) used by EWView/DOS to define the background information displayed on trace maps and to define the turn points which can be input on the task page.

MapComp.EXE reads a single input file which is conventionally given the file name extension .MAP. The .MAP file contains commands to indicate the input files containing the data to be included in the map and commands to define the output map format.

MapComp was originally written as a temporary expedient for the author's own use and so is not very slick in operation. Nevertheless, it should be robust enough for general application by computer orientated users.
