Latitude and Longitude Formats
Geographical positions in the form of latitudes and longitudes
appear in all of the input files read by MapComp. The format
in each case is the same.
Because of the wide range of possible formats which can be used
for latitudes and longitudes MapComp is fairly strict on the
format it accepts to avoid possible ambiguity. There are two
basic forms allowed:
- Degrees, minutes and either decimals of a minute or seconds.
- Degrees and decimals of a degree.
In both cases, the order is always latitude followed by longitude.
